Since 2002, the RACQ free2go team have been hitting the road completing presentations to Year 12 students around Queensland - and since July 2007 Year 11 students have also been able to take advantage of the presentations.

During the presentation, students are spoken to about the program in detail, shown an exciting DVD and are given the opportunity to ask questions about the free2go program, RACQ and licensing.

The Year 11 presentation focuses on the new licensing laws implemented by Queensland Transport in July 2007, and how RACQ can help learner drivers get their provisional license with the Learn2go website. The Year 12 presentation focuses mainly on the responsibilities of buying and owning a car, as well as licensing information, maintenance tips and the free breakdown assistance.

Because of the different content covered in the presentations, Year Level Coordinators and Teachers are encouraged to have presentations in both years – even if the group has seen free2go in Year 11.

At the end of the presentation, students are given the opportunity to sign up to the program, or take the form home to discuss with parents if required.

The free2go presentations are available on request to high schools around Queensland by contacting the free2go coordinator on 1800 150 519 or emailing samantha.robertson@racq.com.au .
