Do you have a name for your car? You're not alone.

So popular is the trend of naming your car, that a recent RACQ survey found almost half of all drivers aged 16-24 had done just that, with women the most likely to personalise their ride.

“Many people have a special connection to their car, especially their first one,” RACQ’s Lauren Ritchie said.

“So, we’re not surprised many drivers give them a nickname.

“Some of the results are quite creative but many of the nicknames are inspired by the car itself, particularly the colour or model.”

Top 10 nicknames younger drivers gave their cars

  1.  Kermit
  2.  The Beast
  3.  Betty
  4.  Getsy
  5.  Rosie
  6.  Suzy
  7.  Bluey
  8.  Bubble
  9.  Bumblebee
  10.  Dory

Plus, the entrant with the highest number of public votes will become the People’s Choice champion winning a $1000 Repco voucher and a $500 Puma fuel voucher.

The runner-up in each of the five categories will receive a $500 Puma fuel card. To celebrate their victory, all winners will be invited to attend RACQ MotorFest 2018.
